Distance Learning RQF/SQA Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health

With 1 in 4 adults within the UK experiencing a mental health concern at some point in their lifetime now is the time to support each other and change the stigma around mental health.


Our accredited RQF/SQA distance learning course will provide you with all of the information and support required to become a competent First Aider for Mental Health (successful 1-1 recorded assessment is required to determine pass or fail of this course).


Course consists of part self learning and tutor supported webinar sessions, scheduled webinar dates 1st and 2nd December at 9am – 10:30am Please note both sessions must be attended.

All course material will be provided via email ensuring you have everything you need to get you started, please include correct email address at time of booking in order to get the documents to you.

You can expect to receive support from a highly motivated and engaging instructor, first hand knowledge of mental health conditions, gain confidence in being able to support your peers/colleagues when presenting signs of a mental health concern as well as an accredited qualification which is valid for 3 years.

Course description supplied by awarding body FAA (First Aid Awards):

“This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace.

Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

Building on the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide their peers with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition”.

Modules include;

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Detailing mental health conditions
  • Drugs & Alcohol
  • First aid action plan for mental health
  • Mental health in the workplace

Once both you and the trainer are satisfied with the knowledge gained from the completed modules a recorded 1-1 video assessment is required by FAA in order to assess your qualification. Full course and assessment must be completed within 3 weeks of the course commencement date.

Internet access is essential to complete this course.
