First Aid for Mental Health Distance Learning Course

Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best; therefore, identifying and dealing with these issues could make a profound impact on your business.

You will also be trained on the implementation of a first aid action plan for mental health. This process will standardise the approach to mental health in the workplace, helping your business implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.

You will also learn and understand the impact of substance abuse.

What to expect and course delivery:

This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace.

After successful completion of this course candidates will be consider First Aiders for Mental Health.

Learners would acquire all knowledge as per level 1 course;

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Detailing mental health conditions

and then move on to cover the extra content of level 2

  • Drugs & Alcohol
  • First aid action plan for mental health
  • Mental health in the workplace

A mix of self learning and tutor support webinar sessions will guide you through this course with accredited material, virtual discussions and Q&A’s.

Self learning to commence on 7th January. You will also receive 2 x 1.5 hour tutor supported webinar sessions, arranged for 12th & 15th January 10:30am-12pm. Course content and material will be provided via email along with a reference booklet. It is recommended each candidate conduct a minimum of 4 hours self-learning from the material provided in order to gain the best knowledge from this qualification (please include correct email address at time of booking in order to get the documents to you).

After successful completion of the above a virtual assessment is required by First Aid Awards (FAA) in order to pass this qualification this will be arranged with you and the instructor between 18th – 21st January.

Internet access, Microsoft Teams are essential to complete this course.
